The following statement can be attributed to ROC United.
ROC United is pleased to announce that after countless meetings among our members, staff, and board, a national unification process has been adopted in which we are deepening worker representation in national governance through local leadership boards and a national leadership network. Through this process, many NY members, high-road employers, and staff have decided to join a new united ROC, continuing to conduct programs for workers including job-training classes, and we feel well positioned to make great gains for restaurant workers. We recognize and appreciate that some members of the New York office chose not to join and will be moving forward with their own programming, and we wish them well.

Co-founded by labor rights leader Saru Jayaraman (“One of the top 50 most influential people in the restaurant industry” – Nation’s Restaurant News) ROC United has grown to over 13,000 members across 26 cities in the US, winning 13 worker-led campaigns, totaling $7 million in stolen tips and wages.
