Seattle

WHO WE ARE: The Restaurant Opportunities Center of Seattle (ROC-Seattle) is a member led restaurant workers’ center founded in 2015 and an affiliate of ROC United.

We build power and voice for restaurant workers in three major ways:

Workplace Justice Campaigns – We support restaurant workers in the Seattle area who face injustice in their restaurant workplace. For more information or if you have been a victim of wage-theft, please contact us.

Promoting the High Road to Profitability – We work in coalition with restaurant workers, ethical diners and responsible employers to transform the industry through promotion of “high road” practices. We collaborate with just employers to model how taking the high road is profitable.

FREE Restaurant Training and Job Placement Services – classes provided by partnering with “high road” employers to help restaurant workers advance to livable wage jobs in the industry. We offer the classes on advanced bar tending, fine-dining, and English language needed for the restaurant industry.
Call us at 206 – 617 – 5626 for the schedule.

Research & Policy work - We engage in member-led participatory research to lift standards industry-wide. What workers tell us through our research work determines our policy priorities. We contribute the voice of restaurant workers to the policy debates that takes place in the Washington State House and help educate legislators on the realities of restaurant work;
