Nothing conjures the feeling of "appreciation" quite like being paid minimum wage for a whole lot of work and commitment. Just kidding!

Paying employees a fair wage while also providing health care and other benefits would show genuine appreciation. Unfortunately, when businesses can get away with paying their employees as little as $2.13 an hour, that same employer can pass off paying minimum wage as a perk or gratuitous offering.

Just as Chris Rock says: "You know what that means when someone pays you minimum wage? You know what your boss was trying to say? 'Hey if I could pay you less, I would, but it's against the law.'"

Tell Congress to Pass the Raise The Wage Act.

What would the Raise the Wage Act do?

  • Raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024.
  • Gradually raise the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers to the full minimum wage, which has been frozen at $2.13 since 1991.
  • Set automatic increases starting in 2025 to keep pace with rising wages overall (i.e., adjust the minimum wage to maintain a constant minimum wage–to–median wage ratio).

Fill out the form below to urge Congress to vote in support of the Raise the Wage Act.
