The Restaurant Opportunities Center of New Orleans is conducting a needs assessment to better determine support and resources needed for our community that has been impacted by Hurricane Ida. This survey is not an application for aid, but rather a way for us to collect information so that we can provided effective relief.

  • HOUSING: FEMA’s Disaster Assistance program is helping cover temporary lodging if you can’t stay at your home, as well as repair costs. Learn more HERE or call 800-621-3362 (TTY 800-462-7585).
  • HOUSING: If you are eligible for Transitional Sheltering Assistance, FEMA will pay the cost to stay in certain lodging providers for a limited period. Costs covered are for the cost of the room and taxes, and any other expenses are not included. Visit the FEMA Evacuee Lodging Provider List HERE.
  • POWER: Community Power Stations coordinated by Imagine Water Works are places to charge your devices while the power’s out. In the spirit of mutual aid, the stations are hosted on a volunteer basis by neighbors, organizations, and businesses across the greater New Orleans area. Find the nearest power station HERE.
  • MENTAL HEALTH: Ochsner Anywhere Care is offering free counseling through September 6 for Hurricane Ida victims via with the code IDATherapy, or with the code IDA for visits booked via its urgent care platform.

ROC-NOLA is a restaurant worker center founded in 2011. We build power and voice for restaurant workers through policy change and organizing.

We are a multi-racial, grassroots organization dedicated to winning improved working conditions and raising industry standards for all New Orleans area restaurant workers.

We are a membership-based worker center that organizes restaurant workers. We also advocate for improved labor standards and higher wages and actively work with high-road employers to implement equitable and dignified workplace practices in restaurants.
